How to Tell Original Brazilian Shapewear from a Copy
Brazilian shapewear from brands like Lupo and Liz is popular in Saudi Arabia, and that means copies are common too. A copy may look similar in photos, but it usually loses its shape quickly, rolls down or leaves marks. Here's how to check you're buying the real thing.
1. Check the labels
Original pieces carry the brand's own labels and care tags, including the fabric composition (for example polyamide and elastane percentages) and the country of origin, Brazil. Missing or badly printed labels are a warning sign.
2. Look at the price
Original Brazilian shapewear costs more to make and import. If a "Lupo" bodysuit is sold for a fraction of the usual price, it's very likely not original.
3. Feel the fabric and seams
Originals use firm, smooth fabric that springs back when stretched, with neat seams or seamless knitting and silicone edges that grip without digging in. Thin, shiny fabric, loose threads and uneven edges suggest a copy.
4. Check the size chart
Lupo and Liz size by weight and height, and each model has its own chart. A seller who only offers generic S–XL without a chart may not be selling the real product.
5. Ask the seller
A genuine seller can tell you the brand, the model name and where the product comes from, and will help you pick a size before you buy.
