Types of Shapewear and How to Choose the Right One
Shapewear isn't one product. The right piece depends on what you want to shape and what you're wearing on top. Here are the main types of shapewear, what each one does, and how to choose.
1. Shaper shorts (high-waist)
High-waist shaper shorts cover you from the waist to the top of the thigh. They flatten the tummy, smooth the hips and lift the butt. They're the most versatile type and work under trousers, jeans and most dresses.

2. Bermuda shapers
A bermuda is a longer shaper that reaches mid-thigh or lower. It smooths the thighs and stops them rubbing together, which makes it the most comfortable choice for long days and under an abaya.

3. Full body shapers (bodysuits)

4. Waist corsets
A waist corset concentrates firm control on the waist and tummy for an hourglass shape. It suits people who mainly want a defined waist.

5. Thong shapers
A high-waist thong shaper controls the tummy but leaves no lines on the butt, so it's the best choice under very tight dresses and skirts.
6. Butt-lifting shapers
